Two drivers taken to the hospital after car crash near Fernbridge

FERNDALE, Calif. - On Friday, Aug. 11 just after 6:30 p.m., a Mercedes-Benz collided with an SUV just west of Fernbridge in Ferndale.

A California Highway Patrol officer said the Mercedes was making a left-hand turn when it side-swiped the SUV, causing it to loose control. Tire marks showed that the car slid about 200 feet before it came to a stop.

Both drivers were taken to the hospital. Their condition is currently unknown. There was no one else in the cars.

An hour after the crash, at about 7:30 p.m., officers were still waiting for tow trucks to clear the road. Officials said the crash is under investigation.
