Bealer attorney wants murder trial moved
RED BLUFF, Calif. - Quentin Bealer, the man accused of killing 14-year-old Marysa Nichols in Red Bluff, is due back in court Tuesday.
The judge will hear a defense motion requesting a change of venue. Bealer's defense attorney Shon Northam wants the murder case moved out of Red Bluff.
But Tehama County District Attorney Gregg Cohen doesn't think that should be an option. Cohen said the request was filed too late.
Northam said his client won't get a fair trial in Red Bluff. The case has attracted a lot of media attention. The body of 14-year-old Marysa Nichols was found behind Red Bluff High School in February 2013.
Bealer was arrested a couple of days later.
