Bomb threat causes evacuation at Del Norte High School

CRESCENT CITY, Calif. - The Del Norte High School in Crescent City was evacuated Monday after the school received a bomb threat.

A Facebook post from the Del Norte Unified School District said that the school received an "unsubstantiated" bomb threat and that authorities are evacuating the high school as a safety precaution.

The Crescent City Police Department is the lead investigating agency on the case.

Students who drove to school had to leave their cars behind until the investigation cleared the scene. Officials said that the investigation will continue throughout the night, but they hope to have normal classes tomorrow.

One parent commented that the situation was pretty hectic because of confusion and miscommunication as to where parents were to pick up their child or children.
