Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods kicks off school-year programs


EUREKA, Calif. - Adrian Pichardo, a site director of the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods, said they've been preparing for the start of school for a few weeks.

Pichardo said that they'll now be offering help with homework, reading clubs, musical courses, and drug education. He said education is their top priority and helping children understand its importance.

Pichardo said they are overall excited begin the fall season.

"What I'm forward to is seeing a bunch of new faces." Pichardo said. "Seeing the new kinder-gardeners come in and it's all a new school year."

Pichardo said anyone that wants to apply and do so by going on their website. He said there is a fee but they are willing to work with parents.
