Deputies: Man arrested for threatening Sheriff and family
A man wanted out of Crescent City for making threats against the Del Norte County Sheriff and his family, is now in custody in Humboldt County after alerting deputies of his whereabouts, officials said.NORTHERN MENDOCINO COUNTY, Calif. -
According to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), California Highway Patrol officers issued a be on the lookout for 31-year-old Mark Albert on Monday, Dec. 11.
Officials said Albert had a warrant out for his arrest for making ongoing threats against Del Norte County Sheriff Erik Apperson and his family, as well as threatening to commit acts of violence against other Del Norte County law enforcement officers.
HCSO said they were warned that Albert was considered armed and dangerous and may be in the area of Humboldt County. Deputies said Albert alerted to officials that he was traveling on Highway 101 in Northern Mendocino County.
Deputies said they spotted Albert’s car near Garberville and followed it until back-up arrived. Albert was taken into custody without incident at Shively Road.
