Fees to increase at Lassen National Park in 2018
MINERAL, Calif. - Fans of Lassen national park will be paying more next year as the park raises its fees starting January 1.
According to park officials, the fee increase will better align with the standard pricing model of similar national parks. The fees were last raised in 2015, which had been untouched since 1998.
Officials noted that entrance fees will not be charged for people under the age of 16 or holders of America the Beautiful National parks and Federal Recreational Senior, Access or Military passes.
"We strive to provide visitors with the best possible park experience," said Lassen Volcanic National Park Superintendent Jim Richardson. "The money from camping/entrance fees is used to improve visitor facilities, infrastructure, and visitor services."
