REDDING, Calif. - Grocery Outlet donated $972.70 to KRCR News Channel's summer Stuff the Bus food drive.

Ron Davis, the owner, said it is important to give back to the community.

He explained they have been participating for several years and love to be apart of it because he has seen the positive impact it has.

"There is such a need for people, food wise," Davis said. "It's just a good thing to get behind. I know it helps out The Salvation Army as their funds are limited."

During the shopping spree Davis picked out a variety of food to donate. Davis said he tries to get vegetables, fruit, and pasta.

Davis said mac and cheese is a favorite for the kids.

Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the red barrels at various locations around town. For a full list click here.

You can also drop off donations on May 12 at Crown Motors in Redding and at The Downtown City Plaza in Chico.
