Investigators: 5 Redding fires intentionally set

REDDING, Calif. - Firefighters extinguished a series of small vegetation fires that burned Friday morning on Sulfur Creek Hill in North Redding.

Fire investigators believe all five fires were intentionally set with an open flame device. Five separate fires broke out on Lost Lane, near Market Street and Lake Boulevard behind the Dollar Tree store around 4:30 a.m. The fires burned a total of one acre.

According to a news release from Redding Fire Department, firefighters said with the increase of malicious and intentional fires in the city limits, the public should report all fires to the fire department or immediately call 911.
