Lake County parolee arrested in Willits for possessing drugs and tear gas

WILLITS, Calif. - A Willits woman was arrested on guns and weapons charges after deputies noticed her acting suspiciously in front of a casino, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office (MCSO).

At around 10 p.m. on Nov. 30 a deputy from the MCSO was patrolling the area of the Sherwood Valley Casino at 100 Kawi Place in Willits, Calif. when he contacted a woman standing near the entrance of the parking lot.

The MCSO said they identified the woman as Dakota Quayle and found that she was on probation out of Lake County for charges of possession of a controlled substance and recent use of a controlled substance.

During the investigation, the deputy noticed that Quayle was exhibiting signs and symptoms of recently using a controlled substance, according to the MCSO. After an evaluation, officials said the deputy determined Quayle was currently under the influence of a controlled substance and she was placed under arrest.

During a search of Quayle's property, the deputy located drug paraphernalia, tear gas (pepper spray), and a usable amount of a controlled substance, the MCSO said. After further examination of the tear gas weapon found, MCSO said the label where the serial number would have been was removed.
