Man Accused of Double Stabbing in West Redding Pleads Not Guilty

REDDING, Calif. - The man accused of murdering his aunt and severely wounding his uncle appeared in a Shasta County courtroom Tuesday afternoon.

30 year old Cody Nash of Portland pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and attempted murder.

Investigators say Nash admitted to stabbing the couple with a knife as a way to get his adrenaline up to kill himself.

66 year old Candace Watson was found stabbed to death in the garage of her home on Boston Avenue in West Redding on June 8th.

Her husband, 68 year old Bob Watson, was also stabbed several times. His wounds are serious, but his daughter, Dawn, tells us he is now able to talk. She said Bob is just now learning about what happened and is trying to process it.

Nash is being held on $1.5 million dollars bail and is scheduled to be back in court July 12th.
