UKIAH, Calif. - A man was killed Friday after he crashed his motorcycle while driving more than 100 mph on Highway 20, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At approximately 10:38 p.m., a green Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by an unidentified 41-year-old man from Upper Lake, was traveling eastbound on Highway 20, west of Old Lake County Road, near mile markers 41.43, at a high rate of speed.

Officials said for unknown reasons, the Kawasaki left the roadway and collided with a reflector post. The motorcycle then continued in an easterly direction where it overturned multiple times. The motorcycle and the rider then collided with a rock pile south of the roadway.

The California Highway Patrol said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
