Nevada man arrested in Trinity County for transporting marijuana
HAYFORK, Calif. - A Nevada man was arrested after more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana and $22,600 were seized during a traffic stop on Tuesday in Trinity County, according to deputies. Officials said on Nov. 28, a deputy was patrolling Highway 36, south of Hayfork, when he conducted an enforcement traffic stop on a pick-up truck that was pulling an enclosed trailer. During the investigation, the deputy developed probable cause to search the trailer and pick-up, according to the Sheriff's Office. That's when the deputy said he discovered 2,060 pounds of processed marijuana and $22,600 which was all seized. According to officials, the driver, 54-year-old James Bonetti, from Henderson Nevada was arrested and released with a citation to appear in Trinity County Superior Court, charged with possessing marijuana for sale and transporting marijuana for sale.
