Police search for 'dangerous' car theft suspect

REDDING, Calif. - Redding Police are looking for a stolen car suspect who is considered dangerous. Officers are seeking 29-year-old John Delevati of Redding, after police say he ran from a stolen vehicle near Win River Casino. On Tuesday, at approximately 5:24 a.m., Officer Guiducci spotted a stolen black 2000 Ford Expedition in the area of Canyon and Highway 273. Before Officer Guiducci could get in position to stop the vehicle, the vehicle drove to the extreme west end of the Win River Rancheria where the driver fled on foot. A witness identified the driver of the stolen vehicle as Delevati. There is currently a warrant for Delevati for felony spousal abuse, carjacking, and criminal threats.

Delevati is described as a white male, 5'11", 220 lbs., having a shaved head and a tattoo of the numbers "88" on his face under his right eye, the word "Famous" near his left eye, "SWP" on the front of his neck, and a large swastika on top of his head.

An extensive search of the area by officers, Redding Police Department K-9s and the California Highway Patrol helicopter failed to locate Delevati. Police said Delevati has a history of violence and should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information about Delevati's whereabouts is asked not to approach him, and call the Redding Police Department at 530-225-4200.
