Police Search for Walgreens Thief Who Ran Over Employee


REDDING, Calif. - A Walgreens employee was sent to the hospital with minor injuries Tuesday night after a shoplifter she was chasing ran her over with a truck.

Redding Police said an unknown woman entered the store around 7:00 p.m., filled a basket full of merchandise and exited the store without paying. The suspect then hopped into a white, mid 90's Dodge truck. Walgreens Employee Linda Lees, 54, attempted to chase her until the suspect ran her over with her truck. The truck knocked Lees down and ran over the right side of her body.

Police said the female suspect is between 25 and 30 years old, 120 lbs. and 5'6". She was described as wearing a black beanie, a black jacket, camouflage overalls, and dark-colored snow boots.
