Stolen car recovered after short pursuit


PARADISE, Calif. - Two suspects were arrested after officers say they led them on a chase in a stolen car.

Paradise Police say an officer spotted a Hyundai Elantra matching the description of a stolen vehicle on Bille Road at about 4:00 Friday afternoon.

When he tried to stop the car, police say the driver took off, leading police on a short chase before finally stopping at Fox Rd. and Hazel Way.

The driver, Robert McDonald, 31, and his passenger, Sarah McCarty, 28, were arrested.

McDonald faces charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, evading a police officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

McCarty faces charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

The stolen car was not damaged and has been returned to its owner.
