Suspect arrested in sexual abuse case in Mendocino County
UKIAH, Calif. - In mid-August of 2017, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Detective Unit was notified by Child Protective Services that an 11-year-old girl had been the victim of sexual abuse.
Detectives immediately began a criminal investigation and established probable cause that showed David John Richard, 52, had allegedly committed acts of sexual abuse on the girl for several months when she was 7 or 8 years old.
On Friday, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Richard, subsequently locating and arresting him.
Richard was booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $300,000 bail.
