CHICO, Calif. - After learning of a warrant for his arrest for attempting to rob a Chico Walgreens pharmacy, Reeve Mikkeloson, 30, turned himself in on Mar. 13.

Almost a month before, on Feb. 11, a suspect slipped a pharmacy clerk a note demanding she give him the store's entire inventory of the narcotic Oxycotin.

The clerk refused and a Walgreens employee reported the incident around 5 a.m.

Police arrived in less than five minutes after the attempted robbery was reported but the suspect had already fled the scene. No weapons appeared to be involved with his attempt but the suspect did warn the clerk not to go to police.

After several calls from citizens identifying the suspect, detectives obtained a search warrant for his residence in Chico and an arrest warrant followed.

Mikkeloson turned himself in and was taken into custody for burglary and attempted robbery and booked into the Butte County Jail.
