Teens break into Boonville rental and make themselves at home

BOONVILLE, Calif. - On September 21, deputies with the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office were called to the 18000 block of Hutsell Road in Boonville for the report of a burglary in progress.

Officials said the call came in around 1:10 p.m. when a cleaning person went to a vacation rental and noticed a white Ford Mustang at the house and four young men. The owner of the rental called the Sheriff's Office and advised deputies he had not given anyone permission to be at his residence or his property.

Deputies arrived and found four young men who had entered the rental at 2:00 a.m. that morning.

Officials reported that the young men had entered the home, drank alcoholic beverages, bottled water, and ate food, according to officials. The men had charged their cellphones, iPad, and had even set up a gaming system. They also reportedly took showers and used the owner's towels and slept in the beds.

The men also had done their laundry and deputies found their clothes in the dryer.

Officials said Juan Rebolla-Medina, 19, from Philo, was found to be in possession of metal knuckles attached to a folding knife. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail for burglary, conspiracy, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The three young men, two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old were transported to the Mendocino County Juvenile Detention Center for burglary and conspiracy.
