Thursday, December 28th Forecast: Showers by Friday night into Saturday morning
The pattern continues today with another chilly morning and mild afternoon.
A ridge of high pressure remains locked in place over Northern California. This will continue to bring afternoon highs that are 5-10+ degrees above normal.
A system will rotate over the top of the ridge by Friday night and into Saturday morning. The frontal band associated with it will bring coastal rain and a few mountain showers to the region. Snow levels should remain over 5,000 ft.
The pattern has shifted back to dry for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day with the system staying offshore and out in the Pacific. Model support for precipitation in the long range is still very low.
