Update: Woman Robbed in Intentional Hit-and-Run Accident


REDDING, Calif. - A woman is recovering after she was intentionally knocked down and robbed in the parking lot of Ross Dress for Less on Hilltop Drive in Redding. Police responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. 65-year-old Merle Davis of Redding was unloading items from her shopping cart into her car when an unidentified woman ran by and snatched her purse. The woman then ran off and hopped into the passenger seat of a dark green or gray colored Dodge pick-up truck.

Davis chased after the unidentified woman and was struck and knocked to the ground by the open passenger door of the suspect pick-up truck.

The truck was last seen driving northbound on Hilltop Drive. Davis was transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
