Weather Forecast: Some Sunshine Tuesday, Rain Returns Wednesday

Redding, Chico& Red Bluff - The Northstate will dry and clear out overnight and into Tuesday morning.

The big concern overnight and into Tuesday morning will be passing snow showers with some snow below 5,000 ft. We're not expecting much in the way of accumulations but some passing showers could make for slippery driving conditions on higher passes.

We will see some sunshine by Tuesday afternoon with highs running near normal for this time of the year.

Our next system moves in Wednesday morning. This is a warm system with tropical moisture but there are some snow concerns Wednesday. Cold air trapped in mountain canyons could allow for some brief low snow levels. We will also see some gusty southerly winds with some heavy rain in the lower elevations.

Another shot of cold air will bring more low snow showers on Thursday.

The Northstate drys back out Friday and Saturday before more precipitation moves in Sunday.
