HIGH WIND WARNING
After a brief break from the wet weather on Tuesday we will see the return of wet and windy conditions across Northern California.
A trough from the northwest is grabbing subtropical from out of the southwest. This plume of moisture will be directed at Northern California through the day today.
There is a concern that we could see brief low snow for Northern Shasta County and Siskiyou County Wednesday morning. Snow levels will then climb and likely stay above 6,000 ft Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.
We will see some gusty southerly winds with the strongest winds in the foothills and mountains. For the valley it may take until Wednesday evening and into Thursday before we see gusty southerly winds.
Colder air will then move in Thursday afternoon and into Friday morning dropping snow levels to 4,000 ft or isolated lower.
We will dry out Friday and through the weekend with a slight chance for more showers next Monday. At this point the long range forecast models are keeping us fairly dry through most of next week.
