Willits man arrested for possession and distribution of child pornography
WILLITS, Calif. - According to officials, in January and February of 2017, the Ukiah Police Department received information that explicit images had been uploaded to the internet from a house located on the 400 block of Coast Street in Willits.
Ukiah Police Department (UPD) Detectives said they obtained a search warrant for the house and with the assistance of the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Task Force, Mendocino County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) and the Willits Police Department (WPD), they served the search warrant on Coast Street in February of 2017.
Multiple computers were seized at the house and Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Task Force found more child pornographic images, according to officials.
According to officials, the images belonged to Stephen Vincent Hoag, a 58-year-old man from Willits.
UPD submitted a report to the Mendocino County District Attorney's Office in May 2017 and the District Attorney's Office issued a warrant for Stephen Hoag's arrest for the possession and distribution of child pornography.
On Tuesday, August 8, WPD located and arrested Hoag for his warrant and he was taken to the Mendocino County Jail on a $50,000 bail.
