ALL BROADCAST SIGNALS ARE NOW DIGITAL There have been known issues with the conversion. If you were receiving our broadcast signal over the air (meaning using an antenna or rabbit ears) please check below for more information.
Don't be left without a signal

KRCR recommends getting the analog pass-through converter box, especially if you live in rural areas. Areas that receive their signal via a transmitter may still receive an analog signal, that will have to pass through the digital box.
Important! If you currently have an analog TV set and received Channel 7 signals by antenna before the conversion, you will need a converter box to receive digital broadcasts that started June 13, 2009. Your antenna will need to hook to the converter box antenna input and then the output of the converter box will hook to your analog TV set. If you are currently on a cable or satellite system, you will be OK and will not need a converter box. They will convert the digital signals to work on their existing systems.
If you currently have an analog TV set and receive KRCR via over the air translator please contact our DTV transition team at (530) 243-7777. Some translators will remain in analog broadcast, others will pass DTV signals. We currently urge all translator customers to get an analog pass-through DTV converter. See www.DTV.gov for connection details.
RESCAN! Your DTV receiver should have been rescanned first thing June 12, 2009 after 5:00 AM to see our KRCR 7 DTV Broadcasts.
From June 12, 2009 on there will be many stations transitioning to DTV only service. Your DTV receiver will not automatically track these changes. We recommend rescanning often.
No Rabbit Ears! Although so called rabbit ear antennas will often work for DTV they do not work consistently as well as other antenna choices. We always recommend directional antennas with VHF and low band UHF (channel 14) capabilities. If you are currently receiving channel 7 via an outdoor antenna, you do not have to replace it. If you have to purchase a new antenna, we recommend any antenna similar to these:
HD7690 series Winegard for distant locations, HBU22 Antennacraft for near distant, HD-1080 Winegard, and Winegard SS 3000 for close in attic installation applications.
If you are in an area of overlapping channels (7 from the bay area and 7 from Shasta Bally) then antennas with high front to back rejection similar to Winegard HD 8800 8-Bay would be appropriate.
If you have any questions we can help answer, please call (530) 243-7777 and ask for The DTV Transition Team and a team member will help you with conversion questions.
