Drop off bins are filling up one week before Stuff the Bus
REDDING, Calif. - Stuff the Bus is one week away, but toys are already rolling piling up.
There are nearly 45 dropoff locations in the Northstate for those who want to donate early.
Redding's Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is one of those locations. It's also one of the few where you can buy the toy in the store and drop it in the bin, all in one trip.
Grocery Outlet does have a variety of toys to choose from. You can also bring in a previously bought toy.
There is also a monetary donation box by each cash register. The owner, Ron Davis, said they will match any monetary donation up to $1,500.
Davis said the toy bin has filled up each day and they have to empty it to prepare for the next day of donations.
"We just love doing it each year, Davis said. "It's a great thing to get behind. As a local business owner, it's kind of near and dear to my heart to help those out who might be going through a tough time of year so it's just really a nice and good feeling to help out and make sure we put a smile on those children's faces."
