Local food distributor Pro Pacific Fresh donates over $500 to Stuff the Bus

DURHAM,Calif. - In the final stretch before the KRCR News Channel 7's Stuff the Bus food drive, some big donations are coming in.

Thursday, Pro Pacific Fresh donated over $500 in canned goods. The local food distributor is based in Durham and brings produce to several vendors, such as grocery stores and school cafeterias.

The company prides itself on delivering fresh produce all over the Northstate.

Thursday, it donated 2,000 pounds of canned tomatoes, peaches and more to the Stuff the Bus food drive.

Nate Parks, the president of the company, said he just wants to do his part in contributing to the well-being of this community.

"Everybody can do something different," said Parks. "For some, it's contributing time, it's contributing money, for some, it's contributing food. What can we do to help keep the community strong and keep it the place that we all grew up in?"

For the Chico community, KRCR News Channel 7's live event for Stuff the Bus is Friday, May 12 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Chico Downtown City Plaza. If you're closer to Redding, it will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Crown Motors.
