Butte Co. Sheriff's Dept. remembers 6 slain officers in line of duty
OROVILLE, Calif. —
As part of National Peace Officer's Memorial Day the Butte County Sheriff's Office held its annual memorial ceremony on Wednesday to honor six fallen heroes who were killed in the line of duty.
The well-attended and solemn service was in front of the Butte County Sheriff's Office in Oroville. Sheriff Kory Honea was among those who spoke to the gathering, which included relatives of the fallen officers.
Honea emphasized the importance of never forgetting the sacrifices they made.
The six officers killed in the line of duty are Arthur Miller, Alvin Kister, Charles Brown, Randy Jennings, Bill Hunter and Larry Estes.
