Evacuations ordered for 75-acre fire near Paradise

Evacuations have been ordered for a CAL FIRE incident in Paradise. This is the third fire in Butte County to prompt evacuations Monday and it is called the Honey Fire.
According to city officials, evacuation orders have been put into place for Upper Honey Run, Lower Skyway, Zone 9, Zone 10, and Zone 4. Evacuation Warnings have been issued for Lower Neal and Zone 1.
An evacuation shelter has been opened at the Neighborhood Church in Chico, 2801 Notre Dame Boulevard. A public assembly point has been opened at CMA Church on Clark Road.
Large animals evacuated because of the fire can be taken to Camelot at 1985 Clark Road. Small animals can be taken to 2279 Del Oro and Mono in Oroville.
The southbound lanes of the Skyway is closed and traffic is being diverted to Neal Road. Road closures are in place for southbound Skyway at Pearson; Black Olive at Skyway; northbound Neil at Highway 99; southbound Neil at Skyway; northbound Skyway at Bruce, westbound Honey Run Road at the Skyway, westbound Elliot Road at the Skyway, and westbound Valley View Drive at Oliver Road.
People evacuating are being told to use Clark Road.
Anyone needing help for paratransit should call 2-1-1. The Information line from the City of Paradise is 530-872-5951. As of last check, the fire had burned 75 acres of vegetation. The fire started in the 1200 block of Merlin Lane in the Butte Creek Canyon.
