Highway 70: One confirmed dead, northbound lanes closed
OROVILLE, Calif. —
The Chico California Highway Patrol reported one person is dead after a motorcycle and other vehicle collided on Highway 70 near the Cottonwood pass.
Police responded to the collision at around 6:30 pm Sunday night. Officials estimate the northbound lane of Highway 70 will be closed until 8:00 pm.
At this time it's unknown which of the drivers was killed.
This stretch of Highway 70 is in the northern most part of Oroville and is not part of what's become known as "Blood Alley," which is a 25-mile stretch from Ophir Road to Marysville which has seen many deadly accidents.
