Legislators address opioid crisis in Northstate
OROVILLE, Calif. - Three Northstate assemblymen will be at Butte College Tuesday night, along with state and local opioid crisis experts, to discuss the impact of the opioid epidemic in California and possible legislative solutions.
Assemblymen James Gallagher, (R) Yuba City, Kevin McCarty, (D) Sacramento, and Joaquin Arambula, (D) Fresno will be speaking with the Butte County Drug Abuse Task Force, Public Health, Chico police and medical professionals across the Northstate about what legislative action can be taken against the opioid epidemic.
They'll be talking about improving access to treatment and prevention programs, as well as cutting down on opioid-related conditions.
The forum starts at 6 p.m. at the Black Box Theatre at Butte College.
