Lowe's in Chico cleared, no explosive devices found


CHICO, Calif. - Lowe's in Chico was evacuated after a suspicious package was located on the premises Sunday afternoon.

According to Chico Police's PIO, the Butte County multi-agency bomb squad responded to the scene after a suspicious package was located in the store. Lowe's called Chico Police after a shopper with a K-9 trained dog alerted its owner to the package.

Chico Police evacuated the store and closed off the parking lot. Surrounding streets were not closed off.

Around 2:51 p.m., Chico police located the package and determined that it was not explosive.
