Northstate Supervisor announces run for re-election
REDDING, Calif. —
Shasta County District 1 Supervisor David Kehoe has officially announced he's running for re-election.
Kehoe kicked off his campaign Wednesday night at Corbett's restaurant in Redding.
He's held the position for 10 years after serving on the Redding City Council in the 1990's. Kehoe said for 2018 he would like to focus on public safety, fiscal responsibility and economic development.
Kehoe added the most important area is to be available to the public for help.
"People ask me, 'David, why are you running for office?' and my response is the same response on day one. It is, I came to office to help people and that's my primary obligation," said Kehoe.
In the past Kehoe ran unopposed but this year he will have two competitors. Former Redding City Council Member Missy McArthur and Joe Chimenti. The primary election takes place June 5.
