Three people survive plane crash in Siskiyou County


Three people suffered minor injuries after their small plane crashed in a field north of the Montague Airport Saturday evening.

According to the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office, dispatch received a report around 5:04 p.m. of a small plane crash in the area of Montague.

When deputies responded they found a downed airplane and power lines that were down due to the crash. The downed power lines caused a small vegetation fire that was quickly extinguished.

The three occupants were released at the scene.

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration were notified of the crash and will be investigating it.
