A home in the 22000 block of Reading Drive in Anderson caught fire around 1:30 Thursday morning.

Two people were inside but managed to get out and call authorities.

Shots fired into Chico home

Chico police are trying to track down who fired shots at an occupied home.

It happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 2700 block of Ceres Avenue.

Police said neighbors heard the shots and called police.

Man arrested after shooting victim with airsoft rifle

Redding police arrested a man they said shot a victim in the face with an airsoft rifle, and pulled a knife on someone else.

The suspect has been identified as Drew David Luera, 28.

He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and brandishing a knife in a threatening manner.

Firefighters rescued a man from Big Chico Creek near Bidwell Mansion.

Chico Fire tweeted a video Wednesday of the man being taken on a stretcher before he was rushed to the hospital.

Retired Redding police K-9 reportedly poisoned

A retired Redding police K-9 is in a veterinarian hospital after being poisoned.

Up to $5,000 is being provided by Secret Witness for information to help bring the suspect or suspects into custody.
