1. Lightning and spot fires

Severe weather including lightning hit Redding Tuesday.

Shasta County Cal Fire said two fires broke out, one in Ono and the other in the Silverthorn Road area. Both were contained to an acre or less.

2. Shots fired in Chico Costco parking lot

Chico police are looking for information about shots fired Tuesday night in the Costco parking lot.

No one was injured but anyone with information is asked to contact police at (530) 897-4900.

3. Secret Witness offers reward for missing woman

Secret Witness is calling the disappearance of Lauralyn Palmer suspicious.

A $2,500 reward is being offered for information to help bring Palmer back home.

4. 23-month-old toddler found safe

Deputies in Humboldt County said 23-month-old Mira Carter has been found and reunited with her mother.

Carter was reported missing May 11 after she was last seen with her father.

5. Northstate housing assistance program

A waiting list to help eligible low-income Northstate families pay for housing is open.

Applications can be submitted until June 29 at Shasta County Housing and Community Action Programs on Court Street in Redding, in Weaverville on June 5 and in Yreka on June 7.
