3 teens arrested after attempting to steal from Redding butcher shop
REDDING, Calif. - Three teens were arrested Sunday morning after they set off the alarm at R&R Meats in Redding while attempting to steal cash.
According to police, officers were sent to the store shortly before 12:30 a.m. after an alarm went off at the business. Officers who arrived on scene found smashed windows.
A passing motorist called the police to report that he had seen three boys running from the area after the alarm was triggered. The witness was able to give a time and direction of where the teens were headed.
Officer Trevor Kuyper caught up to the three subjects at Continental and Yuba Street. The witness responded to that intersection and identified the three subjects as the same individuals he saw running from the business.
Police reported that their investigation showed that the teens smashed the windows with the intent of getting inside and stealing the cash register. Once the alarm went off the trio ran from the area without taking anything.
The identities of the three juveniles, ages 14 to 17, are being withheld due to their ages. All three juveniles were booked into Shasta County Juvenile Hall for commercial burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and vandalism.
