APD identifies 2 stolen vehicles in 2 days

ANDERSON, Calif. - On Saturday, March 18, officers from the Anderson Police Department were patrolling the area around Albert Drive and Manter Road in Anderson at around 10:15 a.m.

Officers said they saw a woman driving a suspicious motorcycle down Albert Drive and noticed the Kawaski Adventure motorcycle had been repainted in a way that was intended to disguise the motorcycle.

With the help of SHASCOM, the officers were able to determine the motorcycle was stolen, including the second license plate covering the original license plate.

Tamia Jackson, 37, of Anderson, was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail on suspicion of vehicle theft.

On Sunday, March 19, at approximately 9:55 a.m. the same Anderson Police Officers were patrolling the area around Anna Road and C Street, outside of Anderson proper, when they came across a 1995 Honda Prelude, which officers said looked suspicious.

Officers successfully confirmed the vehicle as stolen out of Redding and contacted the registered owner. Investigators said the owner responded to pick up their vehicle and were very pleased to have their vehicle returned.
