City of Shasta Lake celebrates its 25th annual Veterans Day parade

CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, Calif. - The City of Shasta Lake celebrated its 25th annual Veterans Day parade Saturday morning.

The annual parade, put on by the Shasta Lake Lions Club, drew hundreds of people who lined downtown City of Shasta Lake.

People from across the Northstate gathered to watch veterans, schools bands, and other organizations celebrate our nation's heroes.

"We're honoring the veterans of course. And it's just reminiscent of my time in the military and my serving of the United States of America, so it makes me proud to see people who have given so much for their country for a way of life and to support each other," said one veteran watching the parade.

There was also a pancake breakfast put on by the Firefighters Association and a luncheon after the parade put on by the American Legion.

Organizers said the parade was this weekend so everyone could make it to the Veterans Cemetery next weekend on Veterans Day.
