Family turmoil led to murder-suicide, surviving daughter says

Damages inside Bella Vista home

On January 7, Gary and Teresa Wilson, their son LeRoy Wilson and his wife Zoe Wilson, were all found deceased in their home in Bella Vista Court after a house fire.

With her friends by her side, Ronnie Krug, Gary and Teresa‘s daughter, said she found out her parent's house was on fire that evening through a Facebook message.

"I talked to my mom earlier that day and I asked her, at 3 o'clock I called her and I asked her if I could bring the kids out and she told me no and then she texted me and said she would let me know but she didn't sound like herself," said Ronnie.

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office ruled that Ronnie’s mother, Teresa, shot and killed her husband, son, and daughter-in-law, and their two pets then shot herself in the head.

Ronnie’s first thought was it was her brother Lee Roy because he threatened to kill the family.

"My brother had sent me a message previous to that and I screenshot it and sent it to my mom to let her know that he was stating that he's going to go on a killing spree, meaning I'm going to take everybody out of the house," said Ronnie.

When Ronnie found out it was her mother, she knew her mother had had enough.

"My mom wouldn't do something like this unless it was severe enough. And the only thing that keeps running through my head is the fact that he probably threatened to do something," said Ronnie emotionally.

She said the public may see her mother as the bad guy, but she said that’s not the case.

"She was just a great and wonderful person all the way around, and my father was too. I mean they were loving, caring, giving they, I mean they would help out anybody," said Ronnie.

Ronnie said she now needs help because of what’s left behind.

"My parents cashed out their insurance policy in 2016 and I knew nothing about it," said Ronnie.

Ronnie said she’s holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for her veteran father Gary Wilson at the Redding VFW Post on Sunday, January 18.
