One person suffers minor injuries in Redding mobile home fire
REDDING, Calif. —
Three people were able to escape a mobile home fire in Redding Monday morning, leaving one man with a second degree burn to his shoulder.
According to the Redding Fire Department, firefighters responded to 1045 Deodar Way at 3:56 a.m. for reports of a structure fire.
When firefighters got on scene, the saw a single car garage, a carport with a boat and truck inside, and a double wide mobile home all engulfed by flames.
Officials said all on-duty firefighters were called to the fire due to the size and the amount of outside storage.
Neighbors told our reporter that they heard gunshot-like noises before the fire broke out.
Officials said the fire severely damaged everything on the property, causing an estimated $250,000 worth of damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Redding Fire Department said this serves as a good reminder that residents should check their smoke alarms regularly and should make sure their family has an escape plan.
