Family and friends lay Redding murder victim to rest
ANDERSON, Calif. - A memorial service was held Saturday in honor of Joshua Ahlberg. Ahlberg was the victim of an on-going murder trial that started three weeks ago when Ahlberg was found in Shasta County dead from a single gunshot wound.
His precessional from the church to the cemetery was led by a motorcycle escort through the city of Anderson. A large group was attendance, including his teammates, classmates, family friends. Some were too emotional to speak but sad they have good memories of Josh.
One person said they just want justice to be found for him so the family can get closure.
"He was awesome," said Stephen Tavares, Josh's friend since childhood. "Every time I saw him he had a smile on his face laughing, joking around, having a good time."
"He'll be missed. I mean,19 is way too young. He's got way too much life ahead of him and more good times and I'm going to miss out on that," said family friend Ed Caplan
The suspects Brooklyn Hill, Devin Sutton-Wilson, and Isaiah Williams will appear in court Monday, October 23.
