Police search for suspect after apartment fire in Redding

REDDING, Calif. - The Redding Police Department is searching for a suspect after a fire at a Redding apartment Thursday morning.

Police said they are looking for Castin Obar, 22. Obar was last seen wearing blue jeans and a light blue shirt. He was last seen leaving the scene northbound toward Hartnell Avenue and Churn Creek Road.

If you see Obar you are asked to call 911.

According to fire officials, six engines responded to an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Del Sol Place around 9:40 a.m.

Investigators believe that the fire started upstairs and spread into the attic. It is not yet determined if the residents in the four apartments will be displaced, or just the unit at the center of the blaze.

No one was injured and the cause is still under investigation. According to fire officials, one man was detained at the scene and was questioned.
