REDDING, Calif. - For the third time Haven Humane Society is teaming up with KRCR News Channel 7 for the Stuff the Bus Toy Drive this holiday season.

Red barrels are already out in several locations throughout Shasta, Tehama and Butte counties.

This week Haven Humane kicked off a special adoption rate for those that bring in a new unwrapped toy for Stuff the Bus. Between now and November 25 all dog adoptions are $50 and cat adoptions are $40.

Haven Humane CEO Mark Storrey said the team-up is a win-win for kids in need throughout the Northstate and the animals. Over the past two years the Stuff the Bus toy drive and Haven's Home for the Holidays campaign have helped 361 animals find their forever home.

"There's ton of dogs Mickey is one that we had for a long time that I would have said, but Mickey got adopted this weekend which is great. When we hear those and some of our longer time animals, which we've got to know better get adopted it makes it a happy place," said Storrey.

Haven Humane is also offering a greater discount on Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26. Animals that have been in the shelter for more than 90 days will only be $20 to adopt, senior animals 6 years and older will only be $10 to adopt.

Storrey said after this week they will still offer the typical $35 off adoption fees with an unwrapped toy but plan to have even more specials leading up Christmas.
