Hobby Lobby brings in big crowd for Grand Opening
REDDING, Calif. - Hobby Lobby's Grand Opening event in Redding brought a "Black Friday" feel to an October Monday morning.
Mayor Brent Weaver came by for the ribbon cutting. Refreshments and snacks were offered but they went fast. Even into the afternoon, the parking lot stayed packed.
There were no special sales, but crafters from all around had been waiting for this day.
Abby Davis, 10, has already sewn her own purse and was there for the opening to pick a fabric to sew her own pajama pants.
Christine Massey makes dresses for American Girl Dolls and sells them at craft fairs. She was picking out fabric for her next dress.
The manager said they are happy for Hobby Lobby to be part of this community.
