Man hit and killed by train
REDDING, Calif. - Police found a man dead on the railroad tracks south of Placer Street around 1 a.m. Tuesday in Redding.
His body was found approximately 50 yards from the intersection of Placer Street and Railroad Avenue.
Officers said he was hit by a Union Pacific train, traveling southbound when it collided with the pedestrian, whose identity has not been released.
They added that they found parts of a wheelchair under the train, suggesting he may have been in a wheelchair when he was hit.
