Multi-alarm fire hits two Redding buildings

REDDING, Calif. - Four buildings including a house and three outbuildings were struck by fire Sunday at approximately 5:30 p.m. at 3889 Rancho Road just off Old Oregon Trail on Redding's southeast side.

It started in the house before spreading to two adjacent outbuildings and another outbuilding across the street. Crews from CAL FIRE, as well as the Redding and Anderson fire departments are on the scene.

Approximately 90 minutes after the fire started crews were still trying to gain a handle on it. The blaze also spread to vegetation making battling the fire more difficult for firefighters.

Crews are expected to be on the scene the entire night cleaning up. At this point fire investigators aren't certain what caused the fire.
