Woman killed at ATM in City of Shasta Lake bank parking lot
CITY OF SHASTA LAKE, calif. —
A woman was killed Friday when a truck hit her while she was standing at an ATM in the City of Shasta Lake.
According to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Tri Counties Bank, located at 4715 Shasta Dam Boulevard, for a vehicle that had struck a building around 11:15 a.m.
On their way to the scene, deputies learned a pedestrian had also been struck.
When officials arrived on scene, they spoke with the driver, Deborah Beaupre, 58, of Redding.
It was determined Beaupre was attempting to park her vehicle when she accidentally accelerated and struck the woman and the walk-up-ATM on the east side of the bank.
When medical personnel arrived, they transported the victim to Mercy Medical Center where she died. Her name will be released once the family is notified.
Officials said drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The collision did cause damage to the east side of Tri Counties Bank but it remains open.
