RPD: Man with airsoft pistols, knife detained in downtown Redding
The Redding Police Department responded to a call from the Shasta County Clerks Office about a man with a gun outside of their office, Thursday morning.
Members of the clerk's office reported that a man was outside their office and had placed a black pistol on the window sill.
Several officers responded to the area and determined the pistol was no longer on the window sill, but the suspect may still have the weapon.
Police say that a short while later the suspect was located walking on Market Street at Tehama Street.
The suspect was found to be in possession of two airsoft pistols and a knife. It was determined no crime was committed, however, Redding police were able to convince the subject to let them take his airsoft pistols for safekeeping.
