Update: Husband, brothers arrested after assaults

Update:

Around 11:45 a.m., deputies with the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported assault in progress occurring at a residence in the 14000 block of Lake Boulevard. 29-year-old Abdul Qasimi called 911 and reported his wife’s brothers were at the home and assaulted him with a baseball bat. Upon arrival, deputies detained four people in the driveway.

Deputies later learned it was Abdul Qasimi who had earlier physically assaulted his wife, the victim. In retaliation, the victim’s brothers, 41-year-old Ajmal Sadat and 32-year-old Rabmal Sadat, went to the victim's home where they proceed to strike Qasimi with their hands, feet, and an aluminum baseball bat. Qasimi described Rabmal Sadat as being in possession of handgun during the assault and pointing the handgun at him. Deputies later located a handgun hidden in some bushes in close proximity to where Rabmal Sadat and Ajmal Sadat were originally found. A records check of the handgun revealed Rabmal as the registered owner.

Based on evidence and statements provided by all involved parties, Abdul Qasimi was arrested for inflicting corporal injury on spouse, which is a felony. Rabmal Sadat was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and committing a felony while armed with a firearm. Ajmal Sadat was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.

All three were booked into the Shasta County Jail. Qasimi was treated at an area hospital for injuries received during the assault prior to being booked.

According to a lieutenant with the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, when deputies responded Sunday night, they arrested the husband of the woman who lived there.

Officials said the woman then called her brothers to come stay with her to keep her company.

According to the lieutenant, the husband was released Monday and returned to the home.

At this point, officials said a confrontation occurred between the two brothers and the husband.

Officials said the brothers grabbed a handgun and a baseball bat.
