Corning stabbing suspect found in Gerber


CORNING, Calif. - UPDATE: Corning police said the suspect in a stabbing on Friday night has been found in Gerber. They said Jose Luis Hernandez III was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail. A K-9 helped with the arrest.


The Corning Police Department is searching for a stabbing suspect after a non-fatal stabbing on Friday.

Around 9 p.m. officers responded to 1423 Butte Street where they found Jason Stewart with a wound to his neck and a laceration to the left hand. Stewart was taken to St. Elizabeths Hospital.

The Corning Police Department believes the alleged suspect, in this case, is Jose Luis Hernandez III, who was last reported driving a black lifted four wheel drive truck, possibly a GMC or Chevy.
